JSC “Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod named after V.U.Orlov”

This company is one of the first manufacturers of carbon black in our country.  Over the years the company has grown to the level of a global scale supplier. Today, raw materials produced by JSC “Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod named after V.U.Orlov” are in high demand not only in the Russian Federation, but also far beyond our homeland.

By 1990 company’s volume of production amounted to about 150 tons annually. 12 process flows functioned. The plant has been constantly modernized. The closed cycle of water recycling was launched (and this was for the first time at enterprises of this industry in Russia).  Refining facilities underwent reconstruction, which resulted in no polluting emissions into natural waters. JSC “Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod named after V.U.Orlov” became one of the first domestic plants, where production of carbon black with characteristics meeting classification of ASTM was established.

At the beginning of this century production facilities were switched to computerized control. An autonomous power station was erected and launched.  Gas, which is a by-product, arrives at special boilers, where it is disposed of without environment polluting. Steam is recycled. It is sent to steam generators, that convert it into electricity, and its volumes are enough to fully satisfy internal needs of the plant.

Today JSC “Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod named after V.U.Orlov” is the leader of the Russian industry. More than 200 thousand tons of carbon raw materials of 15 grades, 11 of which meet ASTM reference standards, are manufactured here annually. About 80% of the company's products is exported. Carbon black of the plant is purchased by European, American, Asian, African companies. For example, Yaroslavl raw materials are used in manufacture of products of such famous trademarks as Continental, Goodyear, Michelin, Nokian, Semperit and Trelleborg.

Being a well-recognized leader in the market (the plant is one of the top-5 largest manufacturers in the world), the company produces carbon black of various grades. The main types of products are raw materials for rubber production. The following grades are produced: No. 220, No. 330, No. 339, No. 347, No. 375, No. 550, No. 660.
